Cook County School District 130 Schools Are Open Monday, September 21, 2026

Cook County School District 130 is aware of flyers and social media posts encouraging families to keep their children home from school on Monday, September 21, 2026. These materials are not from District 130 and were not created or distributed by the District.

Our schools are open and safe, and we encourage our students to attend school as they normally would.

The District is continuing its transition in custodial services, with additional personnel beginning work in our schools as soon as they are cleared and approved. We are moving as quickly as possible to get cleaning staff into the buildings, with the understanding that the background check process and student safety cannot be compromised. We will continue to ensure our schools are ready for students each day. This is a difficult transition, but we are working toward a better solution that addresses longstanding concerns about custodial services and will be better for students, staff and the community.

We encourage our students to be in school on Monday, learning with their teachers and classmates. We look forward to seeing them.
